My wife and I were doing some shopping in downtown Bozeman when we went into The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company. I would love to tell you the reason for the visit was to buy one of our nieces or nephews a Christmas gift, but the truth is, we went in for me.

Yep.

I realize that might sound odd that as a 40 something-year-old man, I'm still into cool toys, but old habits die hard. The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company is a super unique store and I'll be honest, there were about 4 or 5 items that I'm seriously thinking about purchasing for myself.

Growing up, there were a couple of things on my list to Santa that never got delivered. Lincoln Logs, and a Lava Lamp. My parents said I couldn't have Lincoln Logs because I would throw them at my brother and they told me that I would burn down the house with a Lava Lamp (ironically, that is the same excuse they used on why we couldn't have a real Christmas Tree)

So you can imagine my excitement when I was in The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company and came across both.  I'll be honest, if my wife wasn't there, I would have made a purchase.

The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company really is a lot of fun and even if you don't have kids, I would still suggest a visit.  The store has been in business since 1992 and is a fixture in downtown Bozeman. Located at 111 Main, The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company is open seven days a week.  They're open Monday thru Saturday from 10 am until 6 pm and on Sunday from 10 am until 4 pm.

If you're looking to shop local this Holiday season, check them out.  They have a great selection of toys for all ages, including several educational and science-based toys. There is a variety of toys both indoors and outdoors, as well as a great selection of board games.

A huge bonus for me is that they carry a whole lot of items that you aren't going to find in big box stores. Plus, if you're into Legos, they have some incredible kits including a few for big kids like myself.
