Yellowstone County police investigate homicide in Ballantine
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Montana authorities have arrested a 32-year-old man in an investigation into the death of another man whose body was found in a motel room.
Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder says deputies were called to the small town of Ballantine about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
The sheriff's office announced Saturday evening that the death had been determined a homicide. The identity of the victim, an adult male, was not immediately released.
Linder says James R. Eder was taken into custody about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. There was no information available on whether Eder had an attorney.
Linder says investigators believe Eder and the victim have a "connection" but no other details were released.
The incident remains under investigation.
