Upper Hyalite Road Construction Project Begins This Fall
Crews plan to begin work on the Upper Hyalite construction project this fall. The project includes paving a section of Hyalite Road starting at the dam for about two miles to where the road splits to go to Palisade Falls and Grotto Falls. Work is expected to continue through spring/summer 2020.
There are four main reasons for the improvements:
- User safety
- Long-term maintenance needs
- User access and recreational enhancement
- Reduce sedimentation in municipal watershed
Crews plan on widening the road and clearing trees and vegetation to improve public safety. The will also place guard rails along the road to provide for additional safety.
