University of New Mexico Football Player Arrested for Wearing Baggy Pants on Plane
University of New Mexico football player Deshon Marman’s trip to San Francisco was already sad enough before police got involved.
Marman, who was in the city to attend the funeral of a high school friend, was arrested at San Francisco International Airport Wednesday after he refused to pull up his saggy pants while on a plane heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
A US Airways employee noticed the 20-year-old Marman’s pants “were below his buttocks but above the knees, and that much of his boxer shorts were exposed.”
A police spokesman said Marman would not pull up his pants when asked before getting on the plane and that it took 15-20 minutes for him to depart the plane. Once he finally stepped off, he was arrested for trespassing.
An airline spokeswoman said the company has a dress code for passengers that prohibits “indecent exposure or inappropriate” attire.
Marman was being held on $11,000 bail.
