It's been a couple of VERY windy days on Fort Peck Lake and the surrounding area. A Lake Wind Advisory continues all day Wednesday, with wind gusts of up to 40 mph - too dangerous for small craft boating on the lake.

Travelers have encountered howling winds and ground blizzard conditions on Thanksgiving while traveling on Montana roads. Southwest Montana highways have been particularly hit by gusty winds consistently over 30 mph. Combined with even small amounts of snow, conditions and visibility has been quite poor.

The notorious I-90 corridor through Livingston, Montana and areas east are experiencing severe crosswinds up to 65 MPH. These dangerous winds are expected to continue through at least Wednesday morning.

Highway driving will not be fun in Montana on Friday in places like Butte, Anaconda, Deer Lodge, Polson, Kalispell, Whitefish, Browning, Heart Butte, Shelby, Choteau and much of northeast Montana. Winds of 40 to 50 MPH will not be uncommon.

We've been battling high winds for WEEKS and they're going to continue this week, until at least noon on Thursday. 60 MPH winds are expected on the I-90 corridor between Livingston and Big Timber.

Wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph may pummel at least 25 Montana counties through Tuesday morning. A huge section of the state is under a High Wind Warning or Wind Advisory.

Man, these gusty winds are just not letting up through the Livingston area and the I-90 corridor towards Billings. Gusts up to 65 MPH are expected through this Friday.

Very gusty winds up to 60 MPH are in store for areas of northwestern Montana through Wednesday morning.
