Saturday: ‘Spring for Food’ drive for Gallatin County families
The Gallatin Valley Food Bank needs our help this Saturday with one of the biggest food drives of the year. 26% of the people who use the food bank are our children. Let's make sure those shelves are packed with good stuff.
Grocery stores across the valley will be drop-off points for this food drive. That will make it easy to shop and donate for your convenience.
(PRO TIP: I like to take a look at the grocery online flyer BEFORE I head to the store on days like this Saturday. You can check the best deals and sales so that your dollar goes the furthest for you AND the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.)
- WHAT: 2022 Spring For Food Drive
- WHEN: Saturday, April 9th, 2022 (10am to 3pm)
- WHERE: Grocery stores across Bozeman and Belgrade, MT
- GOAL: To collect 15,000 pound of food for the food bank
Want to volunteer to help at this event? HRDC could use your help. There will be many locations for you to choose from since the food drive is being held at many grocery store locations across Bozeman and Belgrade.
What should you donate? There are very few ways to get it wrong. Just make sure that sell-by dates are valid and keep in mind, the healthier the better. The focus this year is on children, so donation choices geared toward their palate might be smart. According to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank's website, their wish list includes:
- Fresh Produce
- Masa Harina
- Granola Bars
- Diced Green Chiles
- Shelf-Stable Milk
- Peanut Butter 16oz
- Pantry Staples like Flour, Sugar and Oil
- Diapers size 3 and up
- Baby Wipes
- Baby Formula
- Toilet Paper
- Laundry Detergent
