So, take two guys, and now even two women, put them in an octagon caged ring. Tell them they can punch, kick, use boxing, judo and even a little karate. That's what MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is and it has become a huge new sport. It's very primitive and very bloody.

Bozeman, which has a few gyms for this new sport, is having a new event this Friday night at 7 p.m.

"Mixed Martial Arts returns the the Haynes Pavilion at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Bozeman's best MMA athletes compete to showcase their skill and challenge themselves. This event is open to all ages. Get tickets at bozemanmma.com, the pita pit, and bagels etc. After party at Bar IX. General admission tickets are $25"

Now I have been to big boxing matches in Las Vegas, and while I am not a big fight fan, I might go to a boxing event. But this MMA is different. I have not seen one in person but on television, it looks very disturbing. It is sort of like wrestling but real. Guys are on the floor chocking each other. I am always worried someone might get really hurt. And they do.

So I look forward to talking to these fighters and find out why they do it. I might even try to see how tough they really are. Check it out tomorrow on Dominick In The Morning.
