Big Sky Plans to Open, As Usual, This Thanksgiving

As November comes to an end, it's a reminder that colder temperatures, snow, and winter weather is just around the corner. One of the things Montanans love about winter is to head outside and enjoy all the snow on the slopes.

Big Sky Ski Resort has announced they will be opening on Thanksgiving. Traditionally, they choose to open on Thanksgiving day every year and this year proves to be no exception.

Due to concerns of COVID-19, facial coverings will be mandatory for all guests while in lift queues, loading, riding, and unloading lifts. Liftlines will also look different this year to help with physical distancing. With over 5,850 acres available for skiing there is ample room to space out on the hill.

They have also released new adjustments for food while on the mountain and stated:

We have reconfigured on-mountain and village dining establishments to allow more space for social distancing. Grab-and-go and takeout options will be available at each restaurant, with online ordering capabilities for select locations to provide guests an alternative method of ordering and minimize time indoors. The Yellowstone Conference Center, an 8,000 square foot indoor space, will be open to the public to provide additional seating and room for dining and warming up this winter.

Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, and several other ski resorts around the country were drastically impacted earlier this year during their spring rush due to concerns of COVID-19.
