Attorney General Barr to travel to Montana on Friday

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — U.S. Attorney General William Barr is traveling to Montana to speak with tribal leaders and law enforcement officials about missing and murdered indigenous persons and methamphetamine trafficking.

Justice Department officials say Barr will begin his day Friday at the Flathead Indian Reservation, where he will meet with Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribal leaders and federal officials.

Later that morning, Barr and Office of Tribal Justice Director Tracy Toulou plan to address the tribal council.

That afternoon, the attorney general will travel north to Kalispell to participate in a discussion with Republican Sen. Steve Daines and law enforcement officials about fighting the state's meth crisis.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions participated in a similar discussion in Billings last year.
