You Won Life’s Lottery — Happy July 4th
Today is July 4th,2018. Our Independence Day. The birth of a nation. The beginning of a country that literally changed the entire planet for the better.
The freedom to reach any height you want is possible in the United States of America
Flight, telephone, electricity, automobile, radio and TV have all been perfected thanks to the freedoms in our constitution.
While there are other free countries with opportunities around the world few if any can match the firepower and opportunity for those who chose to call the USA home.
World Poverty and America
According to the World Bank, 1.9 billion people (or 37.1 percent of the global population) lived on less than $1.90 a day in 1990, compared to a projected 702 million (9.6 percent) in 2015. That’s a 74.1 percent decline in 25 years.
America had a hand in that reduction.
While living on $1.90 a day may seem impossible to us the reduction in the numbers living that way are being reduced every day.
As living conditions within the US improve innovations developed here are refined to the point they are affordable to others around the world lifting more and more people out of abject poverty.
Some Final Thoughts
While you’re downing that second hot dog or shooting off fireworks or taking advantage of the sale at Penny’s take a moment to really think about today.
Imagine what the world would be like if 56 men had not signed a simple piece of parchment.
What we have is well worth fighting for to keep. Not only for those of us fortunate enough to have been born here but for the good of the planet.
Here’s hoping you all have a very Happy Independence Day. Comments below.
