We think it's about time Bozeman add a feature like this for families to enjoy every summer.

The weather is finally heating up this summer and locals are trying to find any way to keep themselves cool from the hot rays from the sun. Most folks will head to the local pools, float the rivers, or enjoy the air conditioning in their homes.

I was talking to a friend who recently took his kids to Butte to check out their summer waterpark and he couldn't give it enough credit. The Ridge Waters Waterpark opened a couple of years ago and has been a hit with locals near and far.

The City of Butte owns and operates the waterpark and has waterslides, diving boards, water volleyball, and more. Plus, admission to the waterpark is incredibly affordable for families.

Why hasn't the City of Bozeman tried to do anything like this waterpark? We understand the summer season isn't very long but it could be a huge money maker for the city and a massive attraction for locals and tourists alike.

Many folks aren't comfortable floating rivers or driving to lakes, and a local waterpark would be a fantastic alternative for those with kids.

The only other waterparks close to Bozeman are in Billings(The Reef) and Fairmont Hot Springs, which can be costly for families.

With the city of Bozeman still growing steadily, we think it's time for Bozeman to add an attraction that would be fun in the summer and a solid money maker.

It's just an idea.
