Texas Woman Who Died After Being Hit by Vehicle in Yellowstone National Park Identified
A Texas woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Yellowstone National Park last week.
Wendy Larrabee, 47, was crossing the West Entrance Road to take a picture of an eagle when she was struck by a vehicle just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, according to a press release from Yellowstone National Park.
Bystanders started CPR immediately and rangers arrived within minutes, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The park advises visitors to use pullouts to stop and view wildlife. It is unsafe to park on the shoulders and walk in and along the roadway. Also, drivers should slow down when moving through a congested area,” the press release states.
West Yellowstone Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol, Hebgen Lake EMS and Fire and the Gallatin Valley Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
