Impact Fees

Bozeman City will annexing property that's surrounded by the city. This will affect at least 500 homeowners who'll pay impact fees, water and sewer costs.

If I’ve learned anything about Bozeman in my 25 years, it’s that Bozeman does pretty much what it wants regardless of any outside influence.

Lots in Bozeman are in the $125,000 range and if you use the rule of thumb that lot price is one fourth of the project then you’re looking at a $500,000 home.

Living here I’ve seen many demonstrations. Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, LBGT, Sanctuary Cities, Legalized Pot, Impact Fees, and Low Cost Housing to name just a few.

Maybe we could attach a really big mower to the Bear Cat or perhaps those assigned to community service by the courts could do a little mowing.

Why am I skeptical of affordable housing in Bozeman? Mostly because, in my opinion, it can’t happen as long as it’s a political issue.

  Deputy Mayor Jeff Krauss stopped in to talk about Monday nights commission meeting where the City Commission voted 3-1 in favor of imposing impact fees of 100% of the study results, not the 60% that was talked about.
