Blizzard

It's literally the perfect storm for Butte, Bozeman, Billings, Baker, and everywhere in between. Heavy snowfall, dangerous winds, and drastically cold temperatures are expected across most of Montana. Don't be surprised if Emergency Travel Only statements are issued.

This week won't be a great time for travel to Idaho. Up to two feet of snow and very gusty winds are expected around West Yellowstone and along the Montana/Idaho border.

Southwest Montana is under a High Wind warning until Tuesday afternoon with winds of 60 to 70 mph possible at times, accompanied by snow. Dangerous driving conditions will occur.

Heavy snow and high winds are combining to make travel difficult on the east side of the Rocky Mountains in northern Montana.

A storm that rolled through northwest Montana brought enough snow and strong winds to cut power to thousands of people Monday morning.

Missoula got more snow than Bozeman in our last blizzard this past week. This is a very thoughtful and clear time lapse of how and when they got snow.

Overnight, on the last day of the month, Missoula received a substantial amount of snow and is extremely close to breaking the all-time February record.

With November upon us and 'real' winter right around the corner, let's take a minute to remember just how bad it can get in Montana. This particular (quick!) video was taken in Plentywood, MT in 2011.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Livingston and Big Timber areas in effect from 11:00am this morning through 5:00am tomorrow morning. Winds 35-55 mph, gusting to 65 mph will cause zero visibility at times with whiteout conditions possible.
