Last week, The Twin Falls School District in Twin Falls, Idaho approved a plan to add armed security guards at some of the schools in the district. The security guards will be trained and ready to respond if a situation were to occur.

As of right now, there hasn't been a school district in Montana that has approved a plan to add armed guards in schools, but it's definitely a possibility. Especially considering the fact that Montana ranks #1 for gun ownership in the country.

Gun violence and mass shootings have been front-page news lately. However, most of the shootings occur in places with a much larger population than Montana. Fortunately, there haven't been any major school shootings in Montana, but news of shootings in other places around the country definitely has some parents concerned.

For years, lawmakers and government officials have struggled to find a solution to the increase in mass shootings. It seems like whenever there's a shooting, mainstream media talks about it for a while before it eventually falls to the wayside and gets swept under the rug.

We wanted to know how Montanans felt about the idea of adding armed guards at schools. Some people have suggested that teachers should be trained to use a firearm, and able to use it when needed. Teachers already have a lot to deal with, and some have voiced their disapproval of the idea. We put together a poll last week to find out where Montanans stand on the issue, and here are the results.

We'd like to thank everyone that took the time to vote in the poll.

Over 75% of the people that voted approved the idea of adding armed guards at schools in Montana. The state hasn't announced any official plans, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in the future.
