One of my favorite places to have breakfast is closing, and I'm absolutely heartbroken.

When I first moved to Montana, I discovered a hidden gem located along the Gallatin River between Bozeman and Big Sky. The Inn on the Gallatin instantly became one of my favorite places for breakfast in the Bozeman area.

The restaurant received national attention when it was included in Thrillist's list of the 21 Best Plates of Pancakes in America.

Here's what Thrillist had to say about the Inn on the Gallatin at the time;

The Inn on the Gallatin might look like a Bates-y little row of cabins and RV spots on a stretch of a river in the middle of nowhere, mainly because that's exactly what it is. But the cafe in the faux log cabin lit by the neon vacancy sign pops out some of the best-damned breakfast in the state, a mix of comfort food and honest-to-goodness fanciness that's as unexpected as it is delicious.

The restaurant is roughly a 45-minute drive from Bozeman, but it was always worth it. You were always guaranteed to get great service and a delicious home-cooked meal. The homemade biscuits are out of this world.

In the past few years, the restaurant was only open for special occasions, and I always made it a point to make a reservation when given an opportunity to eat there.

Sadly, The Inn on the Gallatin is closing. The owners are retiring and this weekend is the last chance for fans of the longtime restaurant to eat breakfast there. Everything in the mercantile is 60% while supplies last. If you were hoping to get a reservation, you're out of luck. Spots filled up quickly when the "last breakfast" was announced.

Luckily, you still have a lot of great options for breakfast around Bozeman. You can check out the Western Cafe in downtown Bozeman. There's also the Stormcastle Cafe near the MSU campus. The Feed Cafe on Main St. is also a popular breakfast spot. If you know of any other great places for breakfast in the Bozeman area, let us know on the MY 103.5 App.
