New Western Filmed in Montana Set To Release This Summer
If there is one thing that Montanans will always love watching, it's a great Western film, especially when the movie is filmed and set in Montana.
Deadline announced that a new Western film, Murder At Yellowstone City, has not only been picked up by a North American distributor but announced a release date for the film as well. Murder at Yellowstone City was filmed entirely at the backlot outside of Livingston, Montana, and has a stacked cast.
The premise for the film sounds exciting. The story states Murder At Yellowstone City is,
where a former slave arrives in Yellowstone City, a former boomtown on the decline, looking for a new home. On the same day, a local prospector discovers gold and is murdered.
That sounds like a great story, and the cast they have lined up is intriguing. The film will be starring Gabriel Byrne(Hereditary, HBO's In Treatment), Thomas Jane(The Punisher, The Mist), Anna Camp(Pitch Perfect), and Isiah Mustafa(IT: Chapter Two), and Richard Dreyfuss(Jaws).
This film sounds like this Western will be an intriguing Wild West film where people betray each other to get the gold. One interesting fact is that the backlot where this movie was filmed, is the same place that used to be called Yellowstone City.
We won't be surprised if we see a trailer come out soon next month. The release date for the film is Friday, June 24th, in theaters and on-demand. I hope Regal Cinemas carries the film, because it would be amazing to see in theaters.
