BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 15-year-old Montana boy who investigators say accidentally shot a teenage girl to death has been charged with negligent homicide.

The Billings Gazette reported Friday the boy was charged in juvenile court for the May 11 death of 15-year-old Tionna Rowland.

According to charging documents, the boy was at a friend's home in Billings when he accidentally shot Tionna in the head while trying to dislodge a bullet that was jammed in a rifle.

The friend who owned the rifle heard the gunshot and found the boy crying, saying Tionna had been shot.

The two boys then ran to get help from two women who were outside the home at the time.

Deputy Yellowstone County Attorney Laura Watson says no one else is expected to be charged in the case.
