Montana Senator Steve Daines Tries to Limit a Woman’s Right to Choose

Senator Steve Daines recently helped introduce a law to stop late-term abortions.
The new law would prevent late-term abortion nationwide beyond 20 weeks. Daines believes that at 20 weeks, more than halfway through pregnancy, a baby can feel pain.

Daines says 63 percent of Montanans support limiting abortion after five months.

“The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is an important measure to do exactly that: protect unborn children who can feel pain,” Daines stated. “Only seven countries in the world allow babies 20 weeks or older to be aborted and the United States is one of them, along with North Korea and China. We must continue to be a voice for those who don't have a voice.”

Daines has long worked to protect society’s most vulnerable. Daines was a co-sponsor of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and actively urged for Senate passage in the 114th Congress.
