A Montana man has pleaded not guilty to a new homicide charge in a fatal shooting where two people died and two people were wounded, including a Montana Highway Patrol trooper.

Missoulian reported Thursday that 28-year-old Johnathan Albert Bertsch now faces two counts of deliberate homicide and two counts of attempted deliberate homicide in the March shooting.

Prosecutors say Bertsch was charged in another count of deliberate homicide when another injured person later died in June from gunshot wounds suffered during the shooting.

Bertsch is scheduled for trial in August.
