With a cold and snowy storm about to arrive, the City of Manhattan is telling some of its residents to leave their water running. Here is what the city posted on their website earlier today:

FOR RESIDENCES AND BUSINESSES DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE SEWER REHAB PROJECT, YOUR DIVERTED WATER SERVICE IS AT HIGH RISK OF FREEZING! PLEASE LEAVE FAUCETS TRICKLING!!! IF YOUR PROPERTY LIES ON THE FIRST BLOCK BETWEEN SOUTH 2ND STREET AND SOUTH 5TH STREET, YOUR WATER SERVICE HAS BEEN DIVERTED AND IS AT HIGH RISK FOR FREEZING! WE WISH TO AVOID THIS SITUATION;) PLEASE LEAVE FAUCETS TRICKLING!!!

Temperatures are expect to dip down below freezing on Saturday night into Sunday morning. The area is also expected to receive up to four inches of snow.
