In Las Vegas this morning, a madman opened fire, killing over 50 people in what is the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

A Bozeman listener's family was in Las Vegas at the time. Here is his email:

Hi Dominic
My son his wife and 9 year old daughter had been at Mandalay Bay shortly before the shooting but had got back to the Mirage before it happened.

He said the concert and area were extremely crowded with many people and police. So glad they were not there longer.

What a tragedy
Walt

As I did my morning show, all I could think about is that my family lives in Las Vegas. At 4 a.m. I texted and called. As I went on the air, I knew most of my family was okay...but not all.

The shooting took place at a country music festival. Most of my family members are not fans of country music. The family members that were not getting back to me are big country music fans. This would be something they would go to.

An hour into the show, I got a text. "Dominick, we are okay we didn't go." I was so happy, yet others may not be so lucky.

My listener, Walt, his family members are okay. But it reminds me how small the world really is. A madman starts killing and it affects two or more families in Bozeman.
