Griz Dismantle Cats 54-35 Await Word On FCS Playoffs

How 'bout them Griz? They came through big-time against their arch-rivals on Saturday, and now await word on the FCS playoffs.

In a season of dizzying highs (NDSU - EWU- MSU) and gut-wrenching lows (Cal-Poly - Weber State ), the 'up with Montana' boys came through big time in Bozeman for a stellar 54-35 win over the Montana State Bobcats on a sunny, but cold Saturday afternoon.

The win leaves the Griz with a 7-4 record overall, make that 6-2 in Big Sky play. However, the dream scenario of the Griz winning the conference didn't pan out, as both Southern Utah and Portland State were victorious. The Thunderbirds won the conference outright with a victory over Northern Arizona, and Portland State eked out a win over Eastern Washington.

Saturday's win over the Cats is Montana's third straight, and a new streak is underway.

Now, the speculation is hot and heavy over where, (or if) he Griz might play the first round of the FCS playoffs.

The players have done all they can...now, it's in the playoff selection committee's hands.
