Congressman Greg Gianforte, R-MT, voted this week for a measure to make our schools safer. The STOP School Violence Act helps schools and law enforcement by providing resources needed to improve safety in our schools. Identifying potential threats and curbing violence just to name a couple.

“The STOP School Violence Act empowers communities by providing schools and law enforcement with the tools they need to prevent future tragedies,” Gianforte said. “Our communities must come together to prevent violence in our schools. Working together, students, parents, teachers, and law enforcement officials in Ravalli County addressed a threat at Darby High School. Their actions are an example of the importance of engaged communities.”

The measure provides more resources to train students, teachers, and law enforcement officers on how to recognize and respond quickly to warning signs.
