Brian Popiel, Chairman of the Board for Southwest Montana Building Industry Association, (SWMBIA) visited Monday morning to explain what 'affordable' means to SWMBIA members. The median Bozeman home costs $255,000 - to be considered affordable, SWMBIA builders would lose $30,000 per 'affordable' home. That loss would then be spread out to future development.

The Bozeman City Commission is set to discuss housing affordability this evening - 6 p.m. in the Commission Room at City Hall, 121 North Rouse.

A report from Werwath Associates, delivered to the city last month details recommended action for the City of Bozeman on affordable housing is on the agenda.
