Bozeman Woman Shot and is in Critical Condition

A Bozeman woman is hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting this weekend that left another woman dead. The family of 32-year-old woman, Ashley Van Hemert, who was shot told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle she was shot Sunday at a home in Belgrade.

Van Hemert suffered punctured lungs, broken ribs and a broken arm. The other woman, 35-year-old Lauren Walder DeWise, was killed. Police Chief E.J. Clark Jr. says a suspect was taken into custody but has since been released.
