Most of us remember our first time, right?  For me, it was life-changing. The anticipation and making sure that I had everything ready for that magical moment. Of course, I had gone back and forth on who to pick.  Did I go with Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" or Rick Springfield's "I've Done Everything For You"?

Yes, buying your first album/cassette/cd is serious business.

I ended up going with Queen and I've been a fan ever since. So what was your first record/cassette/cd? Do you remember? What was it about that singer or band that made you want to buy their music?

I asked fellow Montanans what their first musical purchase was, and the answers were r all over the board. From good ole' classic country to 70's classic rock, one thing's for sure, Montanans have a wide range of interests when it comes to music, which I think is a good thing.

So what were some of the answers? Let's take a look:

  • Michael Jackson
  • Bon Jovi
  • Spice Girls
  • Shania Twain
  • Kenny Rogers
  • Survivor
  • AC/DC
  • J Giles Band
  • Kiss
  • Quiet Riot
  • Credence Clearwater Revival
  • The Beatles
  • Wham
  • The Eagles
  • Cyndi Lauper
  • Green Day
  • The Monkees

According to this list, it seems that Montanans are a little bit country, and a little bit rock-n-roll.

Having said that, I'm impressed with all of the great artists here.  In fact, with the exception of the Spice Girls (tell me what you want, what you really, really want) I'm pretty sure that I've bought music from all of these artists.

Did your first make the list?
