When I Shop for Diamonds, Nothing Less Than Bozeman’s Craigslist Will Do
Georgia Cold was charged in Gallatin County District Court last week with felony theft. Court documents say Cold placed a Craigslist ad saying she was liquidating a gemstone business she inherited. The buyer said he bought 70 items from Cold for nearly $90,000. Later he paid another $22,000 for 17 additional gemstones said to be diamonds, but were actually synthetic diamond substitutes called Moissanites.
If convicted, Cold faces up to 10 years in prison, a $50,000 fine or both.
