What’s REALLY Happening with Recycling in Bozeman?
The City of Bozeman, Montana State University Extension – Housing & Environmental Health Program and the MT Weatherization Training Center are pleased to present the spring 2016 sustainability workshop series.
Workshops will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from February through May, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Beall Park Rec Center (415 N. Bozeman Ave.).
Workshop #1, February 11: What’s REALLY happening with recycling in Bozeman?
Confused with all of the recent changes to the recycling system in Bozeman? Not sure what you can recycle where, or why you can still recycle plastics #1-7 in the City but not at the drop-off bins? Want to know why Target is no longer accepting glass? Curious where our recycling ends up after it leaves your bin?
Hear from Rob Pudner, Outreach Educator for the Gallatin County Solid Waste Management District, Kevin Handelin, City of Bozeman Solid Waste Superintendent, and Dave Leverett, owner of Four Corners Recycling about the current state of recycling in Gallatin County, the reasons for all the changes to the recycling system, and what you can and can’t recycle (and WHY!).
After the presentations, join a “dumpster dive” with common household trash to help you figure out what to do with all of those old CDs, batteries, light bulbs, wine corks, plastic clamshells and broken plastic lawn furniture.
