Vehicle Burns After Crash on Bear Canyon Road
Early Wednesday morning, a Bozeman woman lost control of the pickup truck she was driving on Bear Canyon Road in an area southeast of town.
The incident report states that the 2017 Toyota Tacoma veered off the right side of the road and into a creek, where it then caught fire and burned up.
The crash occurred near 1431 Bear Canyon Road at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The driver escaped without serious injuries.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman immediately admitted to being the driver of the vehicle when law enforcement arrived on the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
According to MHP, the woman had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. The woman admitted to consuming alcohol "throughout the night."
It was later found that the driver had a blood-alcohol level of .208 and she was then booked into the Gallatin County Detention Center. It is the woman's first DUI offense.
