Coach Tinkle isn't the only coach playing in the Elite 8 with Montana ties. Kelvin Sampson, the head coach of the Houston Cougars, used to coach at Montana Tech in Butte. And the two Montana-connected coaches will now face each other Monday night.

The country is rapidly approaching March Madness, an annual celebration of rabid sports fandom and hallowed college tradition. Every year, NCAA fans follow their alma mater or college they’d go to if grades and criminal records didn’t matter from hope and glory to everlasting victory or crushing defeat.

Virginia Commonwealth University and Butler will meet Saturday in the most unlikely Final Four match up in NCAA Tournament history.

There is one team from last year's NCAA championship game  still alive and it's not the Duke Blue Devils. Yup Butler, the little-team-that-could from Indianapolis, is at it again, defeating Wisconsin 61-54 and advancing to the Elite Eight, where they'll face the Florida Gators.

In workplaces all over America, folks spent Thursday morning scrambling to get their NCAA tournament brackets filled out before it was too late. Not so at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.  That's because employees at ESPN -- which had been promoting its bracket challenge front and center on its website  -- are banned from any bracket activity while at work.

When you are watching the NCAA Tournament this month, expect to see many shots of cheerleaders, particularly during timeouts. And why not?
