State In Crisis? Governor Demands Call To Action For Montanans
There is a call to action for Montana and that call is to help save lives, keep our streets safe, and let the drug dealers know they aren't welcome here.
In the past year alone, the number of cases involving Fentanyl has nearly doubled, and methamphetamine has become the second drug of choice. In May of this year, Montana was ranked 16th highest for drug use.
MONTANA DRUG STATISTICS FROM THE EXPERTS.
Montana has made national news for the incredibly fast increase in Fentanyl cases, including the high rise in deaths from the deadly drug.
FENTANYL IN MONTANA
So what are we doing to help with this state-wide crisis? Our governor is calling all professionals with specialties in drug use to come to Montana to help with addiction.
“We’re losing lives at the hands of fentanyl, and Butte is really leading the fight against fentanyl at the community level, serving as a model for communities across Montana,” Governor Gianforte
We often despise people coming to our state, but to be honest, this is one idea I totally support. We need to have these services available 24/7. It all starts with an action team, and Butte, MT has taken the first step to say, "Fentanyl is NOT welcome in our community."
We need to do what we can to be ahead of the drug world, and that means we need to have medical professionals ready and willing to help those who are struggling.
Drugs and mental health go hand in hand and the last thing someone struggling with addiction needs to hear is, "We can get you on the schedule in three weeks." In those three weeks of waiting, there is an extremely high chance of relapse or even death.
Montana's law enforcement is constantly taking drugs off the street, which is sad and great at the same time, but will that help with addiction? Not without the proper medical treatment to follow.
BOZEMAN DRUG BUST
There are many clinics that are constantly hiring, including the NEW Billings Clinic Bozeman and Bozeman Health. Is there an incentive that needs to be in place to help with the hiring of nurses, doctors, and specialists?
Let's do our best to keep our communities healthy and safe.
