We are hearing more often about drugs in our state of Montana. Luckily, we are hearing about drug busts that hopefully lead to safer streets for our communities.

Just recently a Livingston, MT man was sentenced on numerous charges, including drugs.

41-year-old Ryan King Steady was arrested in June of 2022 and pleaded guilty to the following two charges:

1. Distribution of Meth

2. Possession of a firearm

After some further investigation, law enforcement learned that Steady had not only sold meth in his home but also outside of his home AND had others working for him. Basically, he was the ring leader and had his "workers" selling for him as well.

Steady was sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking which will be followed by 5 years of supervised release.

This isn't Steady's first run-in with the law, but hopefully, it will be his last.

Are drugs taking over Montana? I would like to think the answer is no, but when it comes to having so many transient workers coming to our beautiful state, the amount of crime will increase.

As we can celebrate every single arrest, and have high hopes for it cleaning up the streets, there is a hard reality that it is an ongoing issue that most fear will be around for a while.

One less dealer being sentenced is a great thing. A big thank you to the officers and deputies that put their lives on the line daily, to keep our communities as safe as possible.
