So, I get an email. It says that Sept. 9 through Saturday, Sept. 14, the Annual South West Montana Preparedness Expo is happening. Well, I should get prepared. It says it's at free event.

At the expo there will be a medical transport helicopter. That might be nice to see, maybe I can get a ride. But I still don't know what I am preparing for.

There will be information on fire safety, financial and legal preparedness and water supply and treatment. So, okay, it couldn't hurt to learn what and how to do water treatment, but why?

Is this like the Boy Scouts? Their motto is always "Be Prepared."

There's information on long-term food storage and emergency communications. Is Safeway and Albertson's closing? Is a zombie apocalypse going to happen?

All I do know for sure is the 14th Annual South West Montana Preparedness Expo is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gallatin Country Fairgrounds and tomorrow on Dominick In The Morning Steve Jenkins, a local engineer who has worked as an Emergency Preparedness Specialist for nearly 25 years, and Dave Johnston of the Bozeman Montana Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saintswill try to explain what the heck we need to get ready for.
