Out-Of-State Transplants Constantly Make This Mistake in Bozeman
Aside from looking at the license plate, there are a few ways to spot a person that's new to the Bozeman area.
Working in downtown Bozeman, you see a lot of interesting things. Our radio station is located on Mendenhall Street in the heart of downtown Bozeman. Driving around in the downtown area can be a bit tricky if you're new in town.

Main Street can often become extremely congested during peak traffic hours. You might have to wait through multiple light cycles if you're trying to make a left turn. To help ease the congestion, many local drivers use Mendenhall St. or Babcock St.
Mendenhall is a one-way street heading west on the north side of Main St., whereas Babcock is a one-way street heading east located on the south side of Main St. When used correctly, the one-way streets in downtown Bozeman are effective in keeping the flow of traffic running smoothly.
However, there are a few issues. Some people apparently don't see the signs that read "One-Way" and drive down them in the wrong direction. Honestly, it's something that I see at least twice a week, and more often than not, the vehicle has out-of-state plates.
I understand that a lot of people are moving to Bozeman, but when they do, they need to be aware of their surroundings. Mendenhall St. and Babcock St. are clearly marked "One-Way" in many locations throughout downtown Bozeman. I'm starting to wonder if some people simply can't read.
I'm not writing this to throw shade at out-of-staters that are moving to Bozeman. It's just something I've noticed happening a lot more frequently in Bozeman.
