One For The Ages? Montana State VS Weber State Was A Classic.
I've watched a whole lot of football in my life and I've never seen anything like what happened in Bozeman on Saturday when the Bobcats hosted Weber State.
You expect a good game when two Top 5 teams get together. Throw in the fact that they're also conference rivals, and you're almost guaranteed to have a great game. However, there is no way that anyone watching the game could have predicted what happened Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.
The weather was horrible, the stadium was packed, the crowd was loud, and after the first few possessions, it looked like it was going to be a defensive battle.
It was certainly a battle but with a final score of 43 to 38, the Bobcats secured a victory when a Weber State receiver let the ball go right through his hands as the Wildcats were marching down the field. It was certainly a dramatic way to end a game, but there was a whole lot of drama before that as well.
So what made the game so unique?
For starters, the Weber State long snapper might have had the worst day in long snapper history. How bad was it? Well, let's just say that there is a new Division 1 record after four errant punt snaps resulted in four safeties and 8 points for the Bobcats.
Throw in the fact that there was also an interception, a kick return, and a punt return and you have the recipe for one of the most wild, weird, entertaining games in college football history.
In the end, the good guys won and remain undefeated in Big Sky Conference play. Throw in the fact that the Griz lost later that night and it was darn near a perfect day for Bobcat fans.
