It's a very sad day to announce that Montana State University Bobcat Linebacker Aleksei Grosulak (#44) has decided to retire from playing football. Grosulak was a star defensive player and will be greatly missed by the Bobcat fans!

Aleksei Grosulak battled shoulder and knee injuries throughout the 2012 season. The injuries ultimately lead to his decision to retire from football. We will miss watching you tackle people, Aleksei!

Grosulak earned Big Sky Freshman of the Week honors twice, National Freshman of the Week honors once, and MSU's Bill Kollar Defensive MVP honors after logging 7.5 tackles-for-loss and 78 total tackles.

Coach ash said that their other backup linebackers are also battling injury. Na'a Moeakiola is out indefinitely and Rhett Young is hoping to be healthy by the end of August.

"Heartbreaking is the best word for it. No one works harder on the field, and no one has worked harder to rehab than Lex. We've seen it from him, so when he says it's time to be done, then we know he just can't go any further. It's heartbreaking, after all the work he's put in and for as much as he means to this program, that he won't get to play as a senior."
