New Law & Justice Center vs. Current Detention Center [PHOTOS]
As we grapple with the idea of a new City/County Law & Justice Center to replace the court facilities, I thought it might help to look back on the construction of the current detention center, which is located at the current Law & Justice Center.
While there are no official cost numbers available yet, people are eager to throw numbers in the $68M to $125M around. Again, there is not an official cost estimate available, no matter who you ask. (As of this writing.)
The current Detention Center was $37M project, funded in part with a $32 million tax levy passed by voters in 2008. The following photos were taken from late February 2009 - mid November 2010.
So, do we build now or let the future costs compile until we build?
