Let's be honest, no one likes a thief.
The idea of someone stealing something that belongs to you is not only a violation, but it can leave the best of us enraged and seeking revenge. So, imagine that you wake up, get ready for your day, and head out to find that your vehicle has been stolen.
While the chances of that happening, might not be great, it seems they increase if you own a certain type of vehicle.
Here in Montana we certainly have our fair share of trucks. From work trucks that are used on construction sites, farms, and ranches to decked-out leather everything with heated this and that.
So it shouldn't come as a surprise that the most stolen vehicle in Montana is a truck. However, it seems it's just not in Montana, the neighboring states of Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota also see more trucks stolen than any other vehicle.
So is there a certain brand that thieves are targeting?
The answer to that question is yes. While the Chevy Silverado and Ram trucks are popular vehicles to steal in Montana and the surrounding states, when it comes to the top spot, it seems the Ford F-150 seems to be the most stolen vehicle in not only Montana but the neighboring states as well.
In an interesting twist, it should be noted that not only is the Ford F-150 the most popular for stolen vehicles in Montana, according to JD Power, but it's also the most popular for new vehicles. The same holds true for Wyoming and Idaho as well, while the most popular new vehicle in North Dakota is the Silverado.
