Earlier this week, the Associated Press quoted Mike McGrath, the Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court, describing how the court is overworked.

Are justices on the court bringing the problems upon themselves? I threw that question to former University of Montana Law Professor Rob Natelson. Natelson now heads up the Constitutional Studies Center for the Independence Institute.

He recently penned a piece for The Daily Caller in which he described the Montana Supreme Court as the worst in the nation:

No court is perfect. But Montana’s bench may be unique for its disregard of basic standards of justice, the extent of its intervention into the state’s political life, and its high-handed use of power.
