In part three of our series, "Race Relations: In America, Montana & Bozeman," Michael Fox, Museum of the Rockies' Curator of History, explains the history of the Confederate flag.

The Confederate battle flag made a major comeback in the 1940s when President Truman announced he was taking steps to integrate the National Armed Forces. It was students who brought back the Confederate battle flag as a political emblem as people who believe in 'white supremacy.'
