The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office has issued a wanted poster for James Franklin Wages for a vehicle theft and burglary, as well as for crimes committed in Missoula County, as well.

Sheriff Steve Holton said Wages allegedly stole a pickup truck early Wednesday morning.

“We’re looking for him for a stolen Ford F-350 King Ranch pickup truck out of Victor that occurred this morning,” Holton said. “We believe he’s still in that pickup and he may be accompanied by an unidentified adult black male. The truck they stole this morning was a 2007 white over champagne color pickup with a distinctive white topper on the bed. It had Oregon tags, but we expect the tags have been removed and replaced with another plate.”

Holton said Wages has a lengthy criminal record in the area.

“There are numerous warrants out for his arrest,” he said. “He’s also a walk away from the Idaho Department of Corrections. He’s been on the loose for a couple of weeks, and is a suspect in a number of stolen vehicles in Missoula, as well.”

Holton described Wages as being 5’9” tall, weighing between 220 and 230 pounds with graying hair.

“We don’t have any information that he is armed, but we’re asking people not to try to approach him if he is spotted. Just call the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office at 363-3033.”
