Lamm Becomes Fifth GOP Candidate for Mont. House Seat

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Former Montana Republican Party chairwoman and ex-state legislator Debra Lamm has filed paperwork to run for Montana's open U.S. House seat.
Lamm filed her statement of organization on Saturday with the Federal Election Commission.
She becomes the fifth Republican to announce her candidacy for the seat next year since Rep. Greg Gianforte decided to run for governor instead of seeking re-election.
Lamm represented Livingston in the state House for one term before she was defeated by Democrat Laurie Bishop in 2016.
Lamm then was chairwoman of the state GOP until earlier this year, when Don Kaltschmidt took over the position.
Lamm will face State Auditor Matt Rosendale, Secretary of State Corey Stapleton, Lewis and Clark County Republican Chairman Joe Dooling and Corvallis schools superintendent Tim Johnson in the Republican primary.
