July is Open Land Month in Montana
Montana Open Land Month was established to enable all Montanans – individuals, businesses, outdoor groups, chambers of commerce, clubs, you name it – to celebrate Montana’s way of life and the open land that makes Montana so special.
Officially recognized by Governor Steve Bullock, this month-long celebration in July 2015 is:
- A formal salute to the importance of open land and Montana’s outdoor way of life.
- A chance to honor all that open land represents: our agricultural heritage, vast outdoor recreational opportunities, clean water, diverse wildlife habitat, scenic splendor, tremendous economic benefits, a $4 billion tourism industry, freedom to roam and so, so much more!
- An opportunity to share your photos, your experiences, and your love of Montana’s open land.
- An excuse to have fun, be creative, and get outside!
