Gianforte Touts Montana’s Economic Strength, Historic Tax Relief

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT) touted the strength of Montana's economy, and the largest tax cut in the state's history, during a nationally televised interview with Fox Business.

This, as the governor's office released new numbers showing Montana's unemployment rate has remained below 3% for the 21st consecutive month.

Here's part of what he told Fox Business:

Gov. Gianforte: We paid off all of Montana's state debt, Montana is now completely debt free. And the way that looks to Montanans is to getting back- a family is gonna get back close to $4,000 in income tax rebates and property tax rebates, in addition to permanent relief on rates. I just think it's the right thing to do to put money back in people's pockets. And it's really in stark contrast to what we see coming out of Washington.

According to a press release from the governor's office, "nearly 40,000 jobs have been created in Montana, the state’s unemployment rate has dropped from 4% to 2.5%, and the number of unemployed Montanans has fallen by more than 34%" since Gianforte took office.
