New Documentary Explores Incredible Life of Jim Bridger
Lewis & Clark, John Bozeman, and Jim Bridger are among Montana's most well-known explorers, and their legacy is still celebrated today. Jim Bridger arrived in Montana in the early 1800s and was a fur trapper with the Rocky Mountain Fur Company.

Bridger significantly impacted Montana’s history as an explorer, trapper, and guide. He was one of the first non-Native Americans to explore the region, helping open up Montana to fur trading, settlement, and military expansion.
Bridger also helped map and guide settlers through dangerous terrain in southwestern Montana, including the Bridger Trail, which was a safer alternative to the Bozeman Trail.
Jim Bridger built his legacy as an incredible storyteller, but some of his tall tales were anything but believable. A new documentary titled The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger was recently added to Amazon Prime, and it's a must-watch for any Montana history buff. The documentary was filmed in Missoula and surrounding areas.
Incredible tales from the western frontier inspired by the adventures of famed mountain man Jim Bridger. As Bridger guides a new wave of Americans heading west, he must help them survive the same life-or-death situations that made him a legend.
The legacy of Jim Bridger is still alive today. Several landmarks, including the Bridger Mountain Range near Bozeman, serve as reminders of Montana's early days.
