Living in Montana can be a bit pricey when you add up all the costs. There's housing, insurance, utilities, credit card debt, miscellaneous items, fun money, and groceries. Often Montanans have trouble making ends meet, so when we have the chance to save a little money, most of us jump on it.
That's where this gets interesting.
Over the last few years, one of the items that has gone up in price here in Montana is food. I'm sure you've noticed that when you go to the grocery store, you may be paying more but are getting less. Lucky for us, some of the most affordable grocery stores in the country are located here in Big Sky Country.

While we have lots of options here, it seems that there are a few grocery stores that rise above the rest when it comes to savings. Stores like Winco and Walmart are both ranked near the top for savings, however, according to one source, the cheapest grocery store in Montana, might surprise you.
Ok, so what is it? Costco? Albertson's? Town and Country Foods?
No, no, and no. According to Net Credit, the cheapest grocery store in Montana is none other than, Target. Yep, Target. Now, I'm not sure I agree with this, in fact, I'm positive I don't. However, Net Credit says that not only is Target the cheapest grocery store in Montana, but it's also the cheapest in Colorado, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
