We all have our vices. For some, it's a drink or two, for others maybe a bit of the hippie lettuce or one of those "magical" gummies. Here in Montana, it seems one of our biggest vices can either cost us money or equal a big payday.

Across Montana, you'll find lots of casinos and chances are, no matter the time of day, you'll find folks in those casinos just hoping to hit it big.

I don't have the best of luck when it comes to such things, but I know others who not only love to gamble but have a pretty high rate of success and have won thousands of dollars over the years.

According to the website 500 Nations, Montana has multiple options when it comes to gambling. The website stated the following:

There are seven federally-recognized tribes that own ten casinos in Montana. There are also 4 small Indian gaming businesses on tribal lands and over 100 state-licensed, electronic gaming casinos

That being said, it might not come as a surprise that Montana is ranked as one of the most gambling-addicted states in America.

WalletHub took a look at all 50 states to determine which states had the biggest issues when it came to gambling and according to their research, Montana ranks 3rd in the country.

Over the last several years, gambling has become much more mainstream, especially with the legalization of sports betting. While many can have fun with it, for others it becomes something that not only controls them but can cost them more than just a few bucks.

Montana isn't the only state in our region that has a gambling issue, our friends over in South Dakota also make the Top 10, actually beating out Montana and ranking 2nd overall in the nation.
