Is This Montana’s Most Iconic Christmas Dish?
Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together, and celebrate with presents, music, decorations, and of course...food.
Of course, a lot of the menu for Christmas dinner depends on traditions and location. For many, they will take a page out of their heritage and make something that has been in the family for generations. For others, it isn't so much about tradition as it is about their favorite foods.
For many, Christmas means a turkey, ham, goose, or a roast, however, when it comes to the most iconic Christmas dish in Montana, it seems we dance to the beat of our own drum.
Montana is known for a few things, mountains, cowboys, skiing, hunting, and fishing. So, it wouldn't be a big surprise to see elk or bison on the table for Christmas dinner, but according to the folks over at Delish, Montanans prefer something else.
So what does the publication say is the most iconic Christmas dish here in Big Sky Country?
According to the site, when it comes to Montana, beef is what's for dinner. Specifically, a ribeye. While that might come as a bit of a surprise to many Montanans, the truth is we love our steak here in The Treasure State. Plus, as one of the biggest producers of beef in the country, it makes sense that a nice homegrown steak would make its way to our plate during the holiday season.
What do you think? Do you agree with the publication? Is a ribeye steak the most iconic Christmas dish in Montana? Or, do you and your family go in a different direction?
