Montana's Population Growth Is Not Just In Big Cities

When people talk about Montana growing in size or transplants coming from out of state, most people assume they are moving to places like Bozeman, Kalispell or Billings.

And while it is true plenty of people are becoming residents of those towns, there are some small towns that have seen their population increase rapidly as well.

When it comes to cities in Montana there are a total of 469 cities all of which range in population from 3 (Niarada) to 117,093 (Billings).

As for those 469 cities there are only eight of them that have a population of more than 10,000 people living in them.

In fact most of the places in Montana would be considered small towns as less that 100 towns total over 1,000 people.

9 Small Towns In Montana Have Seen Big Growth Over The Last 4 Years

So now that we know Montana is full of small towns, which ones have seen the most growth over the last 4 years?

The Bozeman Real Estate Group wondered the same thing so they took a look at the U.S. Census Bureau numbers and found 9 small towns that since 2020 have seen the most growth.

Just a note: this post looks at towns in Montana with a population of less than 10,000 residents but higher than 2,000.

So with that out of the way let us take a look at the 9 small towns in Montana that have exploded in population size since 2020.
